When you camp, you won’t just use water for drinking; you’ll need it for washing and cooking as well. It’s recommended to pack two gallons per day. To avoid carrying so much in one camping water bottle, bring a water filter so that you can replenish your camping water storage at bodies of water.
While you’re camping, bring a sturdy camping water bottle or hydration bladder. Some people carry extra water in plastic bags, but there is a high chance of leaks. If you want gear that occupies minimal space in the offseason, consider a de-flatable bladder.
Keep your camping water storage out of the cold air by wrapping it up in layers such as your sleeping bag or blankets. Use an insulated bottle or thermos flask with a wide mouth. Lastly, put a bit of salt or alcohol in the water to lower the freezing point.
