    FAQs

Can you drink any water with the LifeStraw water filter?

You sure can! The LifeStraw lets you drink safely from any water source – from lakes to murky rivers – by filtering out all of the waterborne microorganisms like E.coli and parasites, along with dirt, silt, and microplastics.

How do personal water filters work?

These handy water filters work as a barrier, physically blocking or trapping debris and bacteria from passing through the straw. All you’re left with is clean water that you can safely drink, regardless of the source.

How long does the LifeStraw water filter last?

Since it’s designed to filter up to 4,000 liters, or 1,000 gallons, of water, it can last you over five years if you drink half a gallon (64 oz) every day.

Does the LifeStraw need to be cleaned?

Yes, it’s recommended that you backwash your water filter straw for optimal filter lifetime. Regularly blow air through it to keep your filter clean and prevent it from clogging.

    Drinking water from a pond

I recently went into the backwoods with a couple of buddies but forgot to take any water.

Fortunately I had my Life Straw which I just got in the mail and I filtered about a gallon of water into

an empty container. This way I don't have to pack around heavy jugs of water. Only need to carry 1

jug of water, then refill it with the LifeStraw as I need it. The water I filter with LifeStraw actually

tastes better than water from Arrowhead or these reverse osmosis vending machines. May tap water

isn't too bad after running it for a few minutes but the Straw makes it even better tasting without running.
